Designer @ SB Studio

I'm delighted to announce that I've now joined SB Studio as Designer. I interned with SB 2 years ago now during my industry placement year and I'm over the moon to now join the team permanently. Be sure to keep up to date with proceedings in the studio via the Journal.

Back 2 Basix

My Bouwen Typeface will soon be on show in L.A. Back 2 Basix, a collaborative group exhibition showcasing work from 15 artists and designers (including myself). If you're lucky enough to live in and around L.A. then pop along, I'm sure it'll be great!

Graduates on Tour

Following the great success of our show in Manchester last night, me and a few of my fellow graduates are heading to London Town next week to show our work. We're exhibiting at Craft Central in Clerkenwell, just off Clerkenwell Road. Anyone is welcome so please come along! The show opens on 19th July at 5pm, the show will also be open on Friday 20th before we head back up north. Free cold beers will also be available, see you there!

BA (Hons) First Class

It seems all the hard work has finally paid off, I've only gone and got myself a First Class Honours didn't I! Now I just need to don my cap and gown and do that graduation thing.

University = Done

I've been a bit quiet on the updates front lately, mainly due to University Work. This post marks the end of that, after 4 years, my days at university are done with. It's been (mostly) great, now it's just a case of getting my new website up and running and hopefully staying well away from the dole queue.

Düsseldorf

I've just returned from a trip to Düsseldorf, Germany. I was invited by Holger Jacobs (Mind Design) to host a type design workshop at the University of Applied Sciences for some of his students. I enjoyed it thoroughly, some of the output from students who attended the workshops is available to view here.

Boxed & Labelled 2

Today, Gestalten have released their latest book: Boxed & Labelled 2. Coincidentally this book features some of my work, that work being my Spaghetti Packaging. I've yet to receive a copy of the book but I'm sure, as with all of the Gestalten books, it looks splendid.

Grafik 192

Today, Grafik 192 has been released. Not groundbreaking news I know, but Grafik have been kind enough to feature one of my fonts. Decani features in the Font Book section of the magazine on pages 89—91. They've also been kind enough to feature me on the Grafik Site as well, splendid stuff. Big thank you to Angharad & co!

Homeward Bound

So my 4½ months in London have unfortunately come to an end. I'd very much like to return to London in the near future, but for now I must return home, that being St Helens (in the North) and soon I must return to University. Goodbye London.

Placement Year

Today marks the last day of my placement year, the end to what has been a great year. Starting back in June 2010 at Uniform, Liverpool and finishing today at Mind Design, London. I've learnt so much and would like to thank everyone that took me on as an Intern over the past year— It's been great.
